Director Notes
Dear Friends of McKean,
It has been the belief of ancient Thai people that the Orang Jessamine, or Dok Kaew in the Thai language, is the flower that brings happiness, purity in the heart and tranquility to people. This is our intention in building Dok Kaew Gardens, the new facilities for age care ministry on our campus.
Dok Kaew Gardens is composed of three sections. The first building includes the office for the manager and staff, a sitting room, an activities/internet room, a beauty salon, and the dining area. The second building, an assisted-living facility, is named Lotus Wing since it located near the pool which is full of lotus flowers. There are ten furnished rooms, each one equipped with an emergency call button. The third building has fifteen bedrooms, including a secure area for mobile seniors with dementia. The name of this building is Jasmine Wing since Jasmine is used in various ceremonies concerning aged people.
We open wide our services for non Thai people in the country and abroad as well. Long term and short term stay may be arranged. Our setting is lovely and green, and good for jogging and biking around the place, morning aerobic exercise, etc. There is a physical therapy room nearby. Shopping trips will be arranged. Since Chiang Mai is the tourism city, we could help residents arrange for sight-seeing trips with a tour company.
We want to thank those in different roles who have contributed in various ways to help make Dok Kaew Gardens a splendid age care facility. On the 6th of November the Moderator and CCT Officers will join the official opening service of D K Gardens.
With Best Regards
